Between the late 1950s and the mid-80s Chet Ivey released nearly 30 singles, covering styles from R&B to early electro soul. This CD covers his funk recordings from 1971 through to the mid-70s recording for labels associated with Al Sears. This is the first compilation of his work; despite his prolific recording career, he is very much a mystery, with virtually no biographical details known, and hardly a mention in the trade publications of the day.
