The songs you hear on Paul Henriksen's first album were written, developed and nurtured during a long period of time. Written, rewritten, tested, rejected, rewritten again and finally perfected Henriksen has studied and learned the craft from the very best; Guy Clark, John Prine, Warren Zevon and the two giants of rock music, Dylan and Springsteen. Paul Henriksen once played in the Norwegian band "The Passengers". He then moved on to the folk/ country-band "Flying Shoes", named after the classic Townes van Zandt album, from 1978.
One of the songs on this album, "Six Foot Two", tells the story of one of the times Paul heard Townes. .."a dark skinny man with a guitar sat down/ He said, I’ll do this song just to warm up.." "Time To Grow Wings" was recorded and produced by Rune Berg, the songwriter and guitarist of the "Margarets". On this album Henriksen was backed by some of the very best musicians Oslo has to offer. Contains 10 songs.
