Ace's You Heard It / Them Here First series has quickly caught on with buyers and we regularly get correspondence from fans who are wondering what we have planned for the series. This month we present the first Special Edition with a collection of songs that were all later recorded by Elvis Presley, no less. The originals of the covers that Elvis cut in the 50s are well known and have been subject to compilation (not always legally) on several occasions. Our package is primarily themed towards songs that Elvis cut after his spectacular career revival in 1968 and going right through to his untimely death in 1977 - although for good measure we've also included a few obscure and seldom-reissued originals of things from the earlier 1960s. It's well known that Elvis loved buying records. He also regularly received demos of songs from publishing houses eager for him to record their product. The likelihood that our 24 tracks are the versions that Elvis heard first is a very strong one. And in all cases, the versions that YOU hear here are the originals in some cases, by only a matter of weeks before Elvis, but the originals nevertheless. To borrow one of Mr. Presley's own album titles - there's Something For Everybody here, whether you're an Elvis fan or just a fan of original versions of great songs.
