As far as we know, none of the tracks on this CD has appeared in the charts of American Popular Music. There are straightaway some surprises: songs which we feel should have made the charts but did not. Baby Mine, the ballad from Walt Disney’s film, “Dumbo”, Billy May’s instrumental, Long Tall Mama, Lullaby Of The Rain, A Pink Cocktail For A Blue Lady and It Happened In Hawaii were all recorded by Glenn and the Band, but their scores were never opened again. Here then are a selection of the Miller tracks which should have made the American charts but didn’t, they are the neglected American songs.
