Idaho raised and Portland based singer-songwriter Sam Tru has a compelling style all her own. Drawing comparisons to singers such as Eva Cassidy, Amy Winehouse, Bonnie Raitt, and Sara Barielles, Sam Tru's debut album is a sound blending, rule breaking, genre defying powerhouse that is all at once both new and familiar. Drawing on influences in jazz, soul, Pop and R&B, her vocal talents have been showcased at the Portland Jazz Festival, the Monterey Jazz 'Next Generation Competition', and in support of artists like Liz Vice, Miles Forte, Biddadat and others. Performing 7 new originals, co-written and produced by acclaimed jazz vocalist, Jeff Baker, and a cover of John Mayer's "Wheel," Sam is joined by Grammy winning bassist Clark Sommers, pianist Justin Nielsen, guitarist Gregory Uhlmann and drummer Matt Carroll.
