This CD features two performances by the great alto saxophonist, Julian “Cannonball” Aderley, Firstly from the Newport Jazz Festival of June the 30th 1960 with a line-up including Nat Adderley on trumpet and flugelhorn, Barry Harris piano, Sam Jones on bass and drummer Louis Hayes. The second performance is from Uppsala University during October 1972 featuring Nat Adderley on cornet, George Duke piano, Walter Booker bass, and Roy McCurdy on drums and of course “Cannonball”leading the performances at both venues.
