This CD features the Jazztett who under the leadership of trumpeter Art Farmer and tenor saxophonist Benny Golson would become a featured item in the 1960 Newport Jazz Festival. The CD features two of their performances, the first being from Freebody Park, Newport, R.I. on the 30th of June 1960. Featuring as well as the afore mentioned artists, Bernard McKinney on euphonium, Duke Pearson piano, Addison Farmer on bass and on drums Lex Humphries. The second concert was known as the Jazztett Reunion and was staged as part of the North Sea Jazz Festival, performed at the Hague on July the 18th, 1982. Although it continued to feature Art Farmer and Benny Golson the rest of the personnel was changed to: Curtis Fuller on trombone, Mickey Tucker piano, Rufus Reid bass and Albert “Tootie” Heath on drums.
