“Dark Round the Edges” was originally issued in an edition of 64 copies, mostly for friends, family, and the odd record company. This album is a holy grail for lovers of fuzz-driven hard rock, and has been the most sought-after privately pressed LP on the planet. The album was recorded at SIS Studios, Military Road, Northampton, UK between 9th and 13th July 1972. The music of Dark is certainly sort of heavy, but do not expect a Sabbath clone whatsoever, even if a lot of people throw that comparison around when it comes to describing heavyness. It is true, however, that the music could be described as proto-metal, or something like that, but it has more of a jam feeling to it.
