Pat Battstone is not a newcomer in the Leo Records catalogue. This is his fifth CD. Although he is a headliner, this CD is very much a collective effort. "Departure" has been recorded by the quartet with his old pals &emdash; Chris Rathbun - bass, Robert Rivera - cello and live electronics, Georgia Santoro - flutes and Pat Battstone - piano and Fender Rhodes. When they start the journey, no one decides where they want to go or what they are going to play. They start as four separate entities yet they arrive as one tight single unit.
