His brother Jimmy, who had led his own band for nearly two decades following the famous split of the 1930s Dorsey Brothers Orchestra, finally broke up his own band and rejoined brother Tommy in 1953. They used to be announced as Tommy Dorsey And His Orchestra featuring the worlds greatest saxophone player Jimmy Dorsey.
